WNO’s FREE Schools concert is returning!

WNO’s Schools concert is returning!

Welsh National Opera’s Schools Concert is returning to the Birmingham Hippodrome on Tuesday 2 May 2023, the perfect, fun introduction to opera and classical music for primary school children in Key Stage 2.

Bookings are now open for this FREE in-person concert via this link: Welsh National Opera – Schools Concert 23 – Birmingham Hippodrome

Our free and inspiring Schools Concerts offer a live orchestral experience for Key Stage 2 students, with popular music from the world of opera, film and TV. This spellbinding musical extravaganza includes arias from Mozart’s The Magic Flute, favourites from Harry Potter and Encanto, and orchestral classics Flight of the Bumblebee and Night on the Bare Mountain.

Presented by the incredible YolanDa Brown from CBeebies’s YolanDa’s Band Jam, WNO Orchestra and a group of soloists will bring the music and the characters alive on stage, in front of your eyes. There will also be an opportunity for the students to interact with the music with a mass sing along of The Farewell Song from The Magic Flute.

If you want to get a head start on the fun, we are offering a free 45-minute workshop with a WNO facilitator in the weeks leading up to the concert, where the students will be introduced and taught the participatory piece. Full details of how to book your workshop will be sent with your ticket booking confirmation. This concert is ONLY available to school group bookings (limited to 60 per group).
